First contract for NR IFF antenna system signed
Oostkamp, BE – On September 7th, Saab AB and Advionics NV,an Intersoft Electronics Group company, signed a contract to deliver Advionics’ Non-Rotating #IFF (NR-IFF) antenna system for the #Germany Navy F123 Frigate Mid-Life Upgrade program. We are thrilled to announce that starting in 2024, our NR-IFF solution – based on L-IESA technology from the Intersoft Electronics Group – will be operationally deployed at Sea by the #German Navy.
Our L-IESA NR-IFF system provides a revolutionary antenna design for the German fleet. Interfacing with any off-the-shelf US DoD AIMS certified third-party #IFF interrogator, including those designed for rotating antennas, our system delivers enhanced performance and advanced features, such as directed identification and 3D leveling. This unique antenna system solution improves the #IFF volume coverage by electronically stabilizing (AESA) the #IFF interrogator antenna while freeing the ship’s top-mast position for other sensors. In addition, it includes #IFF transponder and Link-16 antenna functionality.
Our L-IESA NR-IFF can replace mechanically rotating #IFF antennas with 3D electronically scanning antennas for SSR, ADS-B, Mode S, and #IFF Mode 5 systems. Request more information, through a message here!
